New Milford Will Revise Town Budget Monday Night

The referendum went down to defeat last Tuesday.

NEW MILFORD, CT -- The Town Council is scheduled to revise the budget today, Monday May 21.. Voters rejected a combined $101.6 million budget in a referendum last Tuesday.

In a Facebook post made last Wednesday, Bass acknowledged the anger expressed on social media by residents who did not vote the night before because of the storm, and did not like the final vote tally.

"After researching the Connecticut General Statutes and our Charter and after speaking with the experts in the Office of the Secretary of State ... 'There is nothing in state law or local rule that would provide for a new referendum.'"
