Psychic Correctly Calls New Milford Woman's $3 Million Lottery Win

NEW MILFORD, CT — When New Milford native Carolyn O'Brien had her fortune read by a psychic years ago, she was told that she was seen with "a check in your hand cheering ‘I did it!," according to the CT Lottery. Little did she know, that prediction would end up coming true.

“Everything she told me has come true,” said the newly crowned millionaire, according to the CT Lottery's release.

O'Brien told lottery officials she plans to take care of expenses that loom large for most. She also plans to spend more time with her dog Shea, and even plans to get a 'mani-pedi.

"The pressure is off. We’re going to pay off our kids’ college tuitions, the mortgage and invest," said O'Brien. "You don’t make this stuff up!”

She bought the ticket at the AARI Foods Inc. located at 210 New Milford Turnpike in New Preston, and the store will receive a $30 check from the lottery. She decided to take the lump sum option.

The overall odds of winning a $3,000,000 Royale prize are 1 in 3.58. Of the one top prizes worth $3,000,000 Annuity, one remains to be claimed, according to the CT Lottery.
