Seized Marijuana Grow-Op Equipment Donated to New Milford Youth Agency: Police
In lieu of destroying the equipment, an officer decided it would be best to repurpose it.
From the New Milford Police Department.
At the direction of Chief Boyne, with the judicial authority of the Litchfield Superior Court, this month members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force Northwest Office and the New Milford Police Department repurposed to the Town of New Milford Office of the Youth Agency, and it’s Executive Director Mark Mankin, approximately ten thousand dollars’ worth of indoor agricultural growing equipment.
This equipment was seized January 8, 2015 by the CSP SNTF-NW, and the New Milford Police Department during an investigation into an elaborate illegal indoor hydroponic Marijuana growing operation located within a residence on Chapin Road.

The accused was subsequently arrested and charged with related crimes including the illegal cultivation of Marijuana. Upon the accused’s case being disposed of by the Superior Court, and in lieu of destruction, the specialized equipment was requested by the lead investigating officer, TFO Detective Flockhart, to be surrendered to the Town of New Milford Youth Agency for the furthering of its agencies mission, specifically use at the Sullivan Farm recent greenhouse operation expansion.
In the attached photos, you can see the items donated and staff from the NM Youth Agency who accepted the donation.
