Two Dead After Car Falls 50 Feet Into Embankment on Rte. 202: Police
Two other passengers in the vehicle also suffered injuries.

WASHINGTON, CT — A rollover crash on Rte. 202 in Washington resulted in the deaths of two people Tuesday afternoon, according to state police.
Police say that the driver Eric Johnson, 25, of Terryville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Alexis Schiappa, 25, of Watertown was taken to Danbury Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
At around 12:15 Tuesday, Johnson was driving his three passengers west on Rte. 202 at "a high rate of speed" when he passed a state police cruiser and accelerated past it, according to the police report. Johnson's Toyota Corolla ran a red light and swerved to avoid another car and lost control.

Police say the car struck a metal guardrail in the parking lot of 124 New Milford Turnpike and then went airborne, striking a tree and falling 50 feet into an embankment.
The two other passengers were transported to Danbury Hospital for minor injuries.
