11 Sandy Hook Families State They Have No Association with McGraw Concert Group

11 families affected by the Sandy Hook shooting wanted to clarify that donations to Sandy Hook Promise don't directly support families.

Families of 11 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims released a statement clarifying that they aren’t associated with Sandy Hook Promise, an organization that will benefit from a Tim McGraw concert this summer.

McGraw announced that he would headline the concert and that all proceeds would go to the organization, which seeks to protect children from gun violence. It raises awareness for mental health and gun safety among other outreach efforts.

The 11 families said in a statement that they aren’t addressing a specific position regarding the tragedy, but wanted to clarify that donations don’t directly go to families, according to ABC News.
