2 Injured In 2-Vehicle Crash In Newtown: Police
The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on Toddy Hill Road, according to Newtown police.

NEWTOWN, CT — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Toddy Hill Road in Newtown Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The crash occurred at about 12:40 p.m. near the intersection of Quarry Ridge Road, but information on the extent of the injuries was not available.
According to Newtown police, Seymour resident Janet Smolen, 77, told officers that she was traveling southbound on Toddy Hill Road when the crash occurred, but she was unable to provide additional details.

Newtown resident Jennifer Wilson told police that she, too, was traveling southbound but was stopped on Toddy Hill Road, while waiting for another vehicle to turn onto Quarry Ridge Road, when her vehicle was struck from behind by Smolen's car.
After striking Wilson's vehicle, Smolen's car then struck a utility pole, police said. Smolen was issued an infraction for traveling too close.
