The annual festival returns after last year's cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

NEWTOWN, CT — The annual Newtown Arts Festival, which was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, returns this weekend at the town's Fairfield Hills campus, according to organizers.

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday with a concert by the bands Gold Roots and Alternate Routes, beginning at 6:30 p.m., and continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a beer and wine garden and food trucks at Friday's concert.

Saturday and Sunday will feature more musical acts, food, exhibits, dance demonstrations, and various arts and craft workshops, among other activities.
