6 Injured In 3-Vehicle Crash At Busy Newtown Intersection
Police said multiple people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle collision.
NEWTOWN, CT — Six people were injured in a three-vehicle crash at a busy Newtown intersection Friday evening, according to police.
Officers responded at approximately 6:41 p.m. June 19 to the intersection of South Main Street, Button Shop Road and the entrance to Plaza South following reports of a motor vehicle accident.
According to police, the collision involved a southbound vehicle on South Main Street, a vehicle exiting Plaza South toward Button Shop Road and a northbound vehicle that was stopped at the intersection. After the initial collision, one of the vehicles continued through the intersection and struck the stopped vehicle.

Police said the operators of all three vehicles, along with three passengers from one of the vehicles, reported injuries and were transported to Danbury Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
All three vehicles sustained disabling damage and were removed from the scene.

The Newtown Police Department said the crash remains under investigation.
