Absentee Ballots Available For Newtown's 2022-23 Budget Referendum
The referendum for the 2022-23 budget is scheduled for April 26.

NEWTOWN, CT — Absentee ballots are available for the 2022-23 Newtown budget referendum, which this year is scheduled for April 26, according to officials.
To receive an absentee ballot, a registered Newtown voter (or a "U.S. citizen assessed for at least $1,000 for Real Estate or Motor Vehicles on the 2021 Grand List" in Newtown) must meet one of the following criteria:
- My active service in the Armed Forces of the United States
- My absence from the town
- Sickness
- My religious tenets which forbid secular activity on the day of the election, primary or referendum
- My duties as a primary, election or referendum official at a polling place other than my own during all of the hours of voting
- Physical disability
Filled out absentee ballots must be received by the town by 8 p.m. on the 26th. For more information, click here.
