Accused Thief who Called Herself a Pet Sitter Arrested
Newtown police arrest Bethel woman accused of walking into people's houses under the guise of being a pet sitter and stealing in one case, officials said.

A Bethel resident, who faces a litany of burglary charges from Danbury and Bethel police, has been charged in connection with a January theft on Old Bethel Road in Newtown where a woman claimed to be a pet sitter before making off with a wallet, officials said.
Newtown police charged Tiffany Pirc, 29, of Garella Road, with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. She appeared Friday in state Superior Court in Danbury and held on a $5,000 bond in connection with those charges.
One day earlier, on Thursday, Danbury police charged Pirc with second-degree burglary, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with a police officer in connection with a separate incident, officials said. She was held on a $10,000 bond in that case.

In Newtown, Pirc was , and in one instance on Jan. 24, stole a wallet, police said. In both cases, residents were home at the time and when they confronted her, she told them she was a pet sitter and had gone to the wrong address, police said.
In the one case, the resident said the intruder did not get far into the house before being discovered while in the other during which a wallet was taken, the intruder was undetected for a time before being confronted by the homeowner, police had said.

Pirc also stands accused of burglarizing a Meadow Lane home in Bethel on Feb. 3 with an alleged accomplice, Richelle Bruschi, 38, of Danbury, according to Bethel Lt. Richard Dickinson.
Pirc was arrested on March 11 and charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.
Bruschi was arrested on May 26 and charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny.
Their court cases are still ongoing, officials said.
