Chris DiNoto & Karim Ahmadi: A Former Marine & his Afghani Translator, Together Again.

Join us for a Panel Discussion with Chris DiNoto, a lifelong Newtown, CT resident, his Afghani translator Karim Ahmadi, and Rev. Dr. Steven R. Jungkeit. Douglas Lord, Library Director, will act as the Introducer and Jennifer Nash will ask the panel questions as the moderator. Hear the true story of how Chris & Karim met, worked together in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, and finally re-united after trials & tribulations in Kabul during the U.S. Troop withdrawl from Afghanistan.
Rev. Jungkeit, Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme CT, will discuss the broader topic of the efforts entailed in housing Afghani refugees in Connecticut.
