The 106th District lies entirely within Newtown. The Democratic nominee is expected to face incumbent Republican state Rep. Mitch Bolinsky in the November election.

The race drew local attention after both candidates launched campaigns earlier this year.

Embree Ku previously served on Newtown’s Legislative Council, Board of Selectmen and Board of Education, where she served as chair. Moore, a military veteran, previously worked in Gov. Ned Lamont’s administration on workforce policy initiatives.
