Police said a Mercedes-Benz S550 was traveling west on Sugar Street and slowing to make a left turn onto Sugar Hill Road when a Dodge Ram 2500 following behind struck it from the rear.

After the collision, the Mercedes driver got out to speak with the other driver, but police said the Dodge driver immediately fled the scene without stopping to provide the required information.

Officers later identified and arrested the driver on a charge of evading responsibility under Connecticut General Statute 14-224(b)(3). Police also issued the driver a verbal warning for following too closely, according to the report.
