NEWTOWN, CT — Drivers in Newtown will need to find an alternate route to Interstate 84 eastbound this weekend as a highway entrance ramp closes continuously for more than two days.
The Exit 9 on-ramp to I-84 eastbound from Route 25 will close at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
The closure will be continuous throughout the weekend.
CTDOT advised motorists to seek alternate routes and maintain a safe speed while traveling through the area.
