Greenwich Medical Spa is opening its eighth medical spa location at Plaza South, 266 South Main Street in Newtown, Connecticut, on Tuesday, October 6th, bringing more than 20 years of experience in medical aesthetics and wellness to the community.
Greenwich Medical Spa was founded in 2005 by Marria Pooya, who continues to lead the women-owned medical aesthetics and wellness practice today.
An Afghan-born immigrant who moved to New York as a child, Marria went on to graduate from NYU Stern and work on Wall Street before entering the beauty industry. Her own experiences with appearance and confidence as a young woman helped shape the philosophy that still guides GMS today: aesthetic treatments should help people feel more confident in themselves, never like someone else.
Today, Greenwich Medical Spa has eight locations across Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. Its medically led approach, known as The GMS Way, emphasizes clinical expertise, honest recommendations and natural-looking results that never feel overdone.
Training and safety are central to that approach. GMS providers undergo extensive education and ongoing advanced training, and treatments are carefully vetted for safety, efficacy and results before being introduced into the practice. The team also believes good aesthetic medicine sometimes means telling a patient they don't need a treatment or recommending a different approach.
That commitment has helped GMS earn more than 20,000 reviews averaging 4.8+ stars and recognition as a Top 50 provider nationally for BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM®.
Katie Kajtor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, a Sandy Hook native and longtime Greenwich Medical Spa provider, leads the clinical team at GMS Newtown.
For Katie, the opportunity to care for patients in her own community is especially meaningful. She brings the clinical standards and experience of the larger GMS organization together with something equally important: a genuine understanding of the community she serves.
At its Newtown medical spa, GMS offers BOTOX Cosmetic and dermal fillers, CoolPeel CO2 laser resurfacing, IPL, Fraxel, RF microneedling, The Eraser Microneedling and customized facials, including the Glo2 Facial.
GMS Newtown also offers medical wellness services, including hormone optimization and medical weight loss, giving patients access to a broader approach to looking and feeling their best under one roof.
For Greenwich Medical Spa, community has always been at the heart of its culture, and its Newtown location is an opportunity to build meaningful connections with the people, organizations and businesses that make the community unique.
Through the end of 2026, Greenwich Medical Spa is donating $5 to Sandy Hook Promise for every new GMS membership started. GMS is also proud to sponsor the Race for Catherine 5K, benefiting the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary.
Greenwich Medical Spa Newtown is located at Plaza South, 266 South Main Street, Unit D2, Newtown, CT 06470.
Residents of Newtown, Sandy Hook, Monroe and surrounding communities can learn more about the Newtown location, meet the team, explore treatments or book an appointment through the Greenwich Medical Spa website.
