According to a Newtown Police Department report, a 2025 Ram 1500 was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line, struck a guardrail and continued down an embankment into the woods.

The driver, a 50-year-old Naugatuck man, told police he remembered traveling behind a white truck before the crash but could not recall how the collision happened.

He next remembered being inside his pickup, which had come to rest in bushes near a residential property, according to the report.

The driver was taken to Danbury Hospital by Newtown EMS with suspected minor injuries.

Police said the crash damaged approximately 25 feet of guardrail, along with small trees and plants on nearby private property. The pickup sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

No enforcement action was taken because police said a possible medical condition may have contributed to the driver's loss of recollection and the crash.
