A nearly $6.9 million stone manor tops Newtown's luxury listings, followed by a French Norman estate and custom-built homes.

NEWTOWN, CT — A cut stone manor above the Aspetuck River, with six fireplaces, an elevator and six garages, is Newtown's most expensive home for sale. It leads a list on Zillow.com that also includes a French Norman estate with a 95-foot pool and two houses waiting to be built on Nicolina Way.

No. 1 on the list is 7 Equestrian Ridge Road, listed at $6,872,000 after a $380,000 price cut on Oct. 6. Built in 2002 on 16 acres, the 9,605-square-foot stone house has four bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, and it looks out over a 40-acre horse farm. Inside are a great room facing an outdoor waterfall, a kitchen with a double Viking range plus a separate caterer's kitchen, a library, a river-view sunroom, cherry floors and doors, a wine room, a media room with stadium seating and a caretaker or au pair apartment.
