Black Market Vape Cartridges, $21k Seized In Newtown: PD
Officers seized 100 THC-containing vape cartridges and more than $21,000 in cash, according to police.
NEWTOWN, CT — Officers seized more than $21,000 in cash along with 100 THC vape cartridges after a traffic stop Tuesday evening, according to police.
Officers pulled over a car that was going the wrong way on the I-84 ramp. Officers smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. They also found nine ounces of marijuana wax and a digital scale, police said.
Driver Charles Palmenta, 38, of Pittston, PA and passenger Skyler Arnold, 34, of Norwalk were charged with possession with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was seized.

"These black market vape pens are the exact type that have sent dozens of people across the country to the hospital with serious, even critical, health issues. We are happy they were taken off the streets" said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde, police spokesman.
