Board of Ed Funds Study Looking Into Special Ed Complaints
Over 360 people have signed an online petition complaining about "the inadequacies of Newtown Special Education practices."

NEWTOWN, CT — The Board of Education has approved allocating funds for a study to look into recent complaints by residents of what they call "inadequacies" in the town's special education department, the News Times has reported.
The complaints have surfaced in recent public forums and were given clarity and specificity in an online petition that currently has over 360 names.
The petition alleges breaches in confidentiality where information about children's cases is being shared with other parents in violation of the law, as well as children's Individualized Education Programs being improperly monitored or even followed.
