Booth Library in Newtown Reopens Following Burst Pipe

All sections of the library except the children's section have reopened.

The Cyrenius H. Booth library in Newtown reopened today following a burst pipe in the children’s section that closed the facility.

On Facebook the library wrote, “Despite quarterly sprinkler checks a burst pipe in the Children’s Department of the library caused some damage to the carpet and a portion of the children’s books. This situation is not related to last year’s flooding, but an entirely new issue. JP Maguire is on the scene with dryers, wet vacs and exceptional recovery experts. There was no damage to the second or third floors.”

The library provided an update saying all sections of the library except the children’s department will reopen Feb.19 stressing that the situation was unrelated to the flood from a year ago.
