A John Cilio Program: The Japanese military traveled 3,400 miles across the Pacific to execute their 110-minute attack on Pearl Harbor. It was a total surprise - or was it? Acts of Valor: A Marine & His Translator: Saturday March 5 at 2:00 pm LIVE In-Person and via Zoom. Chris DiNoto & Karim Ahmadi: A Former Marine & his Afghani Translator, Together Again. Join us for an In-Person & via Zoom Panel Discussion with Chris DiNoto, a lifelong Newtown CT resident, his Afghani translator Karim Ahmadi, and Rev. Dr. Steven R. Jungkeit. Hear the true story of how Chris & Karim met, worked together in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan and finally reunited after trials & tribulations in Kabul during the U.S. Troop withdrawal from Afghanistan. Rev. Steven Jungkeit, Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, will discuss housing Afghani refugees in Connecticut.
