*Editor’s note: Due to comments on Facebook, the subhead has been changed from “Former Sandy Hook teacher” to “Sandy Hook Theater Instructor” so as not to offend anyone. I apologize to any readers who were upset over my choice to use the word “teacher” instead of ”theater instructor” and did not mean to cause confusion. ”Miss Wendy” is Wendy Ann Mitchell, author of this article and editor for Patch.com, as originally stated in the article. I used to teach theater classes in Sandy Hook at The SHACK, Sandy Hook Center for Kids, and worked as a volunteer at the SHACK for close to a year. Read more here.
