Recently retired after 40 years as an Engineer developing state of the art Military Electronic Systems
Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.
Michele Robinson (Spouse) retired Reed Intermediate School Library Assistant, my daughter Alyssa (Cooksey) is married to Sam, they have two sons Remington and Kai and live in Newtown. I have two sons Drew and Christopher that grew up in Newtown.
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
No
Why are you seeking this office?
As a retired individual I have the time to give back to the Newtown Community, a community my family and I benefited from for 30 years. I believe my engineering reasoning, analytical skills and keen judgement coupled with my interest in construction and property development would make me a positive addition to the ZBA and support Newtown's growth and development

Maintaining the charm and character of Newtown as it evolves in the future. As a ZBA member I plan to work with businesses, residents, neighbors and community to support and develop a solution that fits within the character of our town while aligning with the general purpose and intent of the zoning regulations.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I think everyone wants to be a positive influence for Newtown as do I. The difference between myself and the other candidates is my availability and my engineering demeanor, reasoning and keen judgement.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My career as an Electrical Engineer spanned four decades, encompassing the design and development of cutting-edge Military electronic systems. At Northrop Grumman, I evolved through various roles, progressing from an entry-level engineer to leadership positions, major program management and technical advisory roles, to finally, the esteemed title of NG Fellow. I have a wealth of experience solving problems and issues that required unique approaches to be successful. These past decisions and their outcomes have influenced my character and are a key attribute I bring to this ZBA position.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Don't ever give up, failing is just a step to success.
