Cash Turned Over To Newtown Police; Owner Sought

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown police are looking for the owner of an undisclosed amount of cash that was turned over to the department over the weekend.
The money was found in the parking lot of the Dunkin' Donuts on Queen Street in Newtown, and was turned over to police on Saturday.
In addition to not disclosing the amount, the department also did not release details about how the money was found.

"Owner of said cash can retrieve it from the [Newtown Police Department]," authorities said in a statement.
