Celebration of Life Event Being Held for Former Newtown Rep
Julia Wasserman, a longtime state representative will be remembered at a celebration of life event.
There will e a celebration of life service for former State Representative Julia Wasserman of Newtown.
Wasserman died at the age of 91. She was a representative from 1991 to 2008.
The event will be held Saturday Sept. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. with the program at 3 p.m. at Fairfield Hills, 3 Primrose St.

She was born in Germany, where she escaped the Nazis as a girl.
“Her inimitable style and presence have been missed since she left the House roughly a decade ago. Her family and friends are in our thoughts today,” House Republicans said in a statement when she passed.

“Julia Wasserman was an original—an original thinker and original doer. She rejected stereotypes & sought solutions. She is greatly missed,” U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal said in a statement.
