Dance Mob Scheduled at Newtown High School
The community is invited to attend the National Dance Week celebration Dance Mob event April 24.

From a Newtown Patch reader:
As part of the official launch of the Wingman for Dance Program and in conjunction with the celebration of National Dance Week, we will host a celebration Dance Mob at Newtown High School on Sunday, April 24th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Wingman is a project from Dylan’s Wings of Change, a foundation dedicated to the memory of Dylan Hockley, one of the first grade victims of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14, 2012. The Wingman project speaks to the need to end the feelings of isolation, rejection and exclusion felt by those children perceived as different. It is a powerful youth leadership program that inspires empathy, compassion and courage among all children.

The National Dance Week Foundation has teamed up with the Wingman for Dance Program and Rhythm Works Integrative Dance for this year’s special fundraising campaign, “A Chance to Dance”. Children with special needs and learning differences are often excluded from traditional dance and arts programs. It is the National Dance Week Foundation’s collective mission to provide the education and tools necessary for teachers, students, and parents to effectively facilitate inclusion, giving all children the “Chance to Dance!”
If you would like to join the Dance Mob as a dancer you can learn the choreography by visiting the National Dance Week Foundation website. Please contact us for more information and to pre-register by sending an email to: wingmanfordance@gmail.com.

We are hoping to fill the stands with spectators that would like to be part of the event but do not want to participate in the Dance Mob, so come on down and celebrate with us at the Newtown High School Blue and Gold stadium, April 24th 1-3 p.m. We hope to see you there!
