Dig Pink for a Cause

The Newtown and Oxford volleyball teams come together for a cause.

The Newtown and Oxford High schools' volleyball teams played in their annual Dig Pink match Friday at Newtown High School.

Prior to the match, the students and adults held a fundraiser, with the festivities starting shortly before the junior varsity match at 3:30 p.m.

Money from donations, raffle, concession and special pink hair feather application sales will go to the Side Out foundation, which was created in 2004 to unite volleyball players and coaches in the fight against breast cancer, raising money that goes to support services, educate the public and provide treatment of the disease.
