Dispute At Newtown Home Leads To Assault Charge: Police

A 44-year-old man was arrested after officers responded to a report of a dispute, according to police.

NEWTOWN, CT — A dispute at a home in Newtown led to an arrest on assault and disorderly conduct charges, according to police.

Officers responded to a residence on New Lebbon Road in the Sandy Hook section of town around 5:47 p.m. on March 30 for a report of a dispute, according to the Newtown Police Department .

Following an investigation, a 44-year-old man was arrested, police said.

He is accused of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to police.

He was released after posting a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 31 at 9:30 a.m., police said.
