Drug Search at Newtown High School Leads to Arrests

The search was conducted on Friday.

Several Newtown High School students were arrested on Feb. 27 after police conducted a drug search at the school, the News Times reports.

According to the News Times, four students were disciplined as a result of the search and one students was disciplined due to an unrelated pending case with the police.

Principal Lorrie Rodrigue did not give any details regarding the type of discipline or the number of arrests made due to student confidentiality regulations, the publication reports. There was no information regarding the type of drugs found at the school during the 45-minute search.

Rodrigue urged parents to only trust information they hear directly from the district.
