DUI, Assault Charges Filed After Newtown Crash Investigation
Police said a motor vehicle accident led to multiple criminal charges.
NEWTOWN, CT — A New Haven woman faces multiple charges after a motor vehicle accident investigation in Newtown, according to police.
Officers responded to the area of Hattertown Road around 5:49 p.m. Sunday for a reported crash. During the investigation, police arrested Karina Guaman-Jaramillo, 35, of New Haven.
According to police, Guaman-Jaramillo was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane, violation of conditions of release, violation of a protective order and third-degree assault.

Police said she was issued a $25,000 bond and remained in custody following her arrest.
Guaman-Jaramillo was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 8, according to police.
