DUI Driver Had Child In Car: Newtown PD

NEWTOWN, CT — A Danbury man was arrested after he was found driving while intoxicated with a child in the backseat Dec. 15, according to police.

The car was pulled over because it was missing a front head lamp and a rear tail lamp, police said. A 5-year-old boy was in the backseat without a child car seat.

Jose Rodriguez, 45, failed field sobriety tests and was charged with risk of injury to a minor, DUI, operating an unregistered vehicle and other motor vehicle violations.
