DUI Driver Had Sword, Rifles In Truck: Newtown PD
He is facing weapons-related and other charges.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested after several weapons were found in his truck during a DUI stop, according to police.
Police got a 911 call Monday evening about a pickup truck traveling erratically in the vicinity of the town flagpole. A patrol officer spotted the vehicle and pulled it over on South Main Street.
John Petrocelli, 56, failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest. During a search of his car he was found to be in possession of two rifles, a sword and marijuana, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde, police spokesman.

He was charged with DUI, criminal possession of a firearm, violation of a protective order, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
