Early Dismissal at Newtown Schools to Beat the Heat

NEWTOWN, CT -- All public schools in Newtown will be dismissed 3 hours early on Monday "due to the expectations for high temperatures." The district announced the emergency early dismissal schedule on social media, noting that not every classroom has air conditioning.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 90 degrees on Monday, and an air quality alert from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for all of Fairfield County.
