Edmond Town Hall in Newtown To Host "Gymboree Celebration"
The event is free and open to all and will include square dancing and lessons, wrestling demos, face painting, games, prizes and more.
NEWTOWN, CT — Edmond Town Hall in Newtown is hosting a free "Gymboree celebration" in its gymnasium on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is a celebration of a grant intended to fund upgrades and added functionality to its gymnasium.
The event is free and open to all and will include square dancing and lessons, wrestling demos, face painting, games, prizes, snacks, musical performances, and more.
"We are so pleased to have won a grant that will make it possible to add amenities to this popular space and we want to share our joy with the community," said Stacey Olszewski, chairman of the Friends of Edmond Town Hall, a non-profit fundraising organization to benefit Edmond Town Hall. The Friends applied for the grant for the benefit of Edmond Town Hall.

The Edmond Town Hall gymnasium is a flexible 5,000 square foot space used by residents and neighbors for numerous types of activities from sports, to celebrations, performances, and more. This event will recognize not only the grant gift, but also the many people who use the gym and the many ways the space is used.
The Gymboree will kick off at 1 p.m. with a check acceptance from civic leaders, including First Selectman Dan Rosenthal and Senator Tony Hwang, who will accept the funds from the donor.

Organizations who will participate in the many activities include: The Rocking Roosters Dance Club, Newtown Youth Wrestling, Honor Society Students, Newtown Bridge Club, Boy Scouts Troop 270, Lathrop School of Dance, Inspiring School of Music and more.
