An informational workshop about the death penalty will be sponsored by the League of Women (LWV) Voters of the Bridgeport Area. The featured speakers will be LWVCT Death Penalty Specialist Ellen McBride and Kristin Bollig of the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty.
Connecticut’s Judiciary Committee has once again proposed repeal legislation that would abolish the death penalty in the state. The March 20 workshop is being held because the LWV recognizes the complexity of this issue and the importance of raising awareness of the facts so that voters can provide input to their state representatives who will be making this decision.
All are welcome to join this session. It is an opportunity for those who want to learn more about the issue and the facts supporting each of the positions.
