The Newtown Historical Society announces that registration is open for its 2012 History camp. The camp will be held July 23-27 at the Matthew Curtiss House, home of the Newtown Historical Society.
This unique camp will explore the life of a colonial child living in Newtown around the year 1750. The campers will discover how a child dressed (campers will make garments to wear and keep), what jobs they might be expected to do, what games they played, what lessons were important to learn and what food the family would have eaten. (Campers will prepare and cook a meal on the open hearth as well as make a variety of snacks. )

This camp is for children 8-10 and costs $135 for Newtown Historical Society members and $150 per child for non-members. Space is limited to ten campers, guaranteeing a rich hands-on experience.
