The NFA 2012 Annual Meeting will take place on May 17th from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Alexandria Room of the Edmond Town Hall on Main Street. Following the business portion of the meeting, attendees will be treated to a presentation by noted Professional Landscape and Garden Designers Brid Craddock entitled, “Small Native Trees for Residential and Street Plantings,” a slide presentation of native trees best suited to our Connecticut climate. These will include readily available flowering and ornamental native trees for use on residential lots. These trees support our native bird, mammal and insect populations. Learn how to select the native trees that are right for your site. We will also hear from Harvey Pessin with a talk entitled, “Newtown’s Victory Garden supporting Newtown’s Food Pantries” in which he will give a short presentation on the status and details of the community garden at Fairfield Hills.
