Wild Food and Ecology Walk with 'Wildman' Steve Brill

Sticks and Stones Farm will host "Wildman" Steve Brill for a Wild Food and Ecology Walk from 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5.

A talk will precede the tour, with Brill leading explorers to find, identify and gather a seasonal edible woodland harvest. Nuts will be at their peak, particularly black walnuts, butternuts, shagbark hickories, white oaks and hazelnuts.

Autumn fruits will be in season including smooth sumac, wild raisins, American hackberries, flavorful wild apples, hawthorn berries, autumn olives and common spicebush berries. Herbs, greens and roots will also be evident.
