Figs Hosts 'Love Wins' Weekend to Honor Ana Grace Project
Figs Wood Fired Bistro is honoring the memory and legacy of Ana Grace on Friday April 1 and 2 by donating 20 percent of sales to the charity

SANDY HOOK, CT-- Figs Wood Fired Bistro is hosting a very special weekend to honor the memory of Ana Marquez-Green whose life was tragically taken in the Sandy Hook School shootings.
Owner Kristina Tartaglia said she is hosting the event to "celebrate the beautiful life of Ana." On April 1, Figs is giving away a free dessert with purchase of lunch or dinner to Newtown teachers, staff and first responders. Twenty percent of all sales on Saturday will be donated to the Ana Grace Project.
In honor of Ana Grace's 10th birthday on April 1, Newtown teachers, staff and first responders will receive a free dessert, "homemade with love" including cannolis, Tiramisu, brownie sundaes and chocolate turtle cake.
"We honor you for your tireless work and dedication to our children and families. In doing so, we honor Ana's beautiful life," Tartaglia said.
The Ana Grace Project's mission is to promote "love, community and connection for every child and family," according to their website.
This is how her dad, a renowned jazz saxophonist, describes his precious daughter:
“Ana’s love for singing was evident before she was even able to talk. In a musical family, her gift for melody, pitch and rhythm stood out remarkably. And she never walked anywhere — her mode of transportation was dance. She danced from room to room and place to place. She danced to all the music she heard, whether in the air or in her head. Ana loved her God, loved to read the Bible and loved to sing and dance as acts of worship. We ask that you pray for the legions of people who are left behind to cherish memories of her.”
Ana Grace's mother Nelba Márquez-Greene said was grateful that the Tartaglia family and Figs is allowing them to honor their daughter and said their generosity "brings us to tears."
"Figs restaurant is a very special place for us. This intimate, delicious restaurant hosts our daughter's memorial bench. And the food is worthy of Ana Grace which is high praise," she said.
Visit Figs on Friday, April 1 beginning at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and dinner through 11 p.m., as well as on Saturday, April 2 for lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. through dinner service which ends as 11 p.m. Tweny percent of all sales go to benefit the Ana Grace Project.
