GoFundMe Created For Long Meadow Farms After Fire
The blaze destroyed a barn at Long Meadow Farms.

NEWTOWN, CT — A barn was destroyed after a large fire at the Long Meadow Horse Farm Thursday morning.
Crews encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the barn and managed to get the horses out to safety in time, according to the Botsford Fire Rescue Facebook page. A tanker shuttle was used to set up a water source to fight the fire.
The fire was reported around 5:30 a.m. on Meadowbrook Road, according to the News-Times.

The barn had a tenant who was able to escape the blaze. Several horses were also able to escape, according to NBC Connecticut. There were no reported injuries.
A GoFundMe was created to help the owners recover.
