NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown High School will close at 10 a.m. Monday following flooding discovered in F Wing earlier in the morning.

The water has caused extensive damage to the school, according to a post on social media.

Only Newtown High School will be closed, and transportation will be provided for students.

According to Newtown Public Schools Superintendent Chris Melillo on Twitter, the damage was caused by a frozen pipe.
