Former Newtown Man Charged With 22 Sex-Related Offenses: PD
A former Newtown man was extradited from Hawaii after he made plans to leave the country, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — Officers arrested a former Newtown resident on 22 counts of sexually-related felony offenses after he made plans to leave the country, according to police.
Stephen Sanders was extradited from Hawaii with the help of the U.S. Marshal Service, Southbury Police, Waterbury Police and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in Florida. He had made plans to go to the Marshall Islands, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde, police spokesman.
“This case was one that police were not going to let go and worked diligently for over a year to bring Sanders to justice and hopefully bring some closure for the victims," Bahamonde said.
