Get Stuffed: 4th Annual Newtown Scarecrow Contest Needs Applicants
Scarecrow builders may work on their entry from Oct. 2-25. Newtown residents will vote for their favorite scarecrow from Oct. 26-29.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Parks & Recreation Department is inviting residents, families, businesses, sports teams and community organizations to participate in the town's 4th Annual Scarecrow Contest.
Participants may "adopt" a Fairfield Hills lamp post of their choice during the month of October, first-come, first-served. Applications must be completed and returned with the $25 fee by Oct. 25.
Scarecrow builders may work on their entry from Oct. 2-25. The town residents will vote for their favorite scarecrow from Oct. 26-29, and the winner will be announced on Halloween.

Winners have a chance to win a Summer 2024 Family Pool & Beach Membership Pass or assorted tier prizes donated by local businesses. The Scarecrow Contest application is online here, and may be returned by mail or in person to the Parks & Rec office at 8 Simpson Street.
Proceeds will go towards a future Bicycle Playground.
