Girl, 8, Struck In Big Y Parking Lot: Newtown PD
The girl was struck on Christmas Eve while walking in the parking lot of the store, according to police. She sustained a minor injury.
NEWTOWN, CT — An 8-year-old girl sustained a minor injury after being struck by car in the Big Y parking lot Christmas Eve, according to police.
The girl's father said the two were walking in the crosswalk of the parking lot after exiting the store and that his daughter was hit when a car turned left. Another witness also said the two were in the crosswalk when the girl was struck by a car going no more than 10 mph.
The girl sustained a cut to her knee. She was evaluated by EMS, but not transported.

The operator said she only saw the girl after the father shouted and that she believed that they weren't in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.
