Intruder Breaks Into Newtown Home, Confronted By Homeowner: PD
Police searched the area around the house for the intruder.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police are attempting to identify a burglar who forced his way inside a residence early Monday morning.
A resident on Walker Hill Road woke up before 5:15 a.m. and heard a person inside his house, said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde, police spokesman. The burglar had pushed in a window to gain access, but fled when confronted by the homeowner.
The intruder was wearing a hoodie and jeans. A K-9 and drone unit searched a wooded area near the residence. Officers are also in the process of talking to neighbors. Detectives are processing the scene for forensic evidence.

"These type of incidents are extremely rare in Newtown and can be extremely unnerving to area residents, but I can promise all resources will be focused on identifying a suspect," Bahamonde said. "Police will also be directing high visibility patrols in this neighborhood”
