Kayaker Washes Ashore In Newtown After Capsizing On Housatonic
Emergency crews came to the aid of the distressed boater after the paddler washed ashore in Newtown.
NEWTOWN, CT — A kayaker ended up ashore the hard way after his ride capsized on the Housatonic River Wednesday morning, the News-Times is reporting.
Emergency personnel, including firefighters, EMS and a dive team responded to the river around 11:40 a.m. following a call reporting the struggling paddler.
Crews found the kayak and its pilot washed up on shore prior to the Silver Bridge ten minutes later, the News-Times reported.
