Live Music at Proud Mary's Inn at Newtown - Celebrity Guest Singer Samantha Cole

~ Let The Stars Come Out Saturday Night  7/20/13 ~

I can't tell you how excited I am about this Saturday Night 8:00 PM at Proud Mary's Lounge at the Inn At Newtown in Newtown CT! The folks at the Inn do a great job and we love playing there. A full menu is available and the doors open at 7:00 PM at the lounge downstairs where we play.

We will have special guests and students of Samantha Cole's sitting in for a few songs as well as other guests. I am lucky enough to have Samantha as my vocal coach. Samantha also will be sitting in for a couple of songs, which is really, really amazing!

Samantha Cole
She has had an incredible career so far starting at a young age, being discovered by Universal Studios at age 19, she had a top billboard hit at #78 "Happy With You". You can check out more on Samantha's vocal coaching offerings here http://connecticutmusicnews.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_9081.html

This is an excerpt from Wikipedia on Samantha Cole below:

Album cover for Samantha Cole's 1997 debut album

Samantha's eponymous debut album was released in 1997. Cole co-wrote eight songs on the album, which included an impressive roster of all-star producers including: David Foster, Nile Rodgers, Richard Marx, Rhett Lawrence, and Diane Warren.[1] Cole's debut single "Happy With You" peaked at #78 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3] The follow-up single, "Without You", failed to chart. The song was covered by American Idol stars Kimberley Locke and Clay Aiken in 2004, and went to #1 in Asia. The song is featured on Locke's album, One Love. Cole went on to release her last single from her debut album, "You Light Up My Life", in the UK in 1997.[4]

In 2001, Cole was featured on the single "Luv Me Luv Me", by Jamaican reggae singer Shaggy. She was brought in to rerecord Janet Jackson's vocals because Jackson had chosen not to allow Shaggy to use her vocals in the song. Her version of the single with Shaggy did not peak on any chart in the USA, but did peak at #5 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2002, Cole teamed up with Shaggy for the second time for the song "Bring It To Me", that was featured on the Dark Angel soundtrack.

Dennis and Gregg are on vacation, but we will make 'em wish they were not... LOL
