Mad Dash in Newtown

We’re excited to announce that the second annual Mad Dash adventure race will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Fairfield Hills, Newtown, CT.

Brought to you by NYA and Newtown Parks & Recreation; and, sponsored by Danbury Orthopedics, the Mad Dash 2013 offers participants the ultimate in fitness adventure!

Participants will run, jump, crawl, carry and climb their way through scenic Fairfield Hills Campus, utilizing both its natural topography as well as man-made structures.  This fun but challenging course includes physical challenges, running and skilled events.Details: Participants can choose from two levels - Beginner/Family (8 yrs +) and Advanced (14 yrs +).  The advanced course will test even the most-seasoned athlete with a difficult run component and challenges. The Beginner/Family course will have significantly less running with modified challenges as it is designed for families and intermediate fitness enthusiasts.

Pre-register online through Newtown Parks & Rec (Activity #414110):Early bird (register by May 17) adult $25.00/child $15.00.Late registration/Day of race: adult $35.00/child $20.00.Teams of 10: $150.00 (Teams MUST register together at Parks & Rec office and run in the same course).Advanced run will begin at 8:30am and 9:30 for Beginner/Family participants (everyone is asked to arrive ½ hour early).Children 8 years and up can participant with a parent and must do family course.  Visit NYA’s website athttp://nyasportsfitness.com or Facebook (NYA Sports & Fitness Center page) for updates.
