New Sandy Hook Shooting Documents Released

The Hartford Courant obtained more than 1,000 pages of documents after a five-year legal battle.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Hartford Courant released details from more than 1,000 of pages of documents gathered as part of the State Police investigation into the 2012 shooting that left 20 children and six educators dead.

Adam Lanza recorded more than 400 mass killings in a detailed spreadsheet dating back to 1786. Some of his writings released included references to pedophilia and his views on interpersonal relationships .

He also details his hate of food and fat people . He was 6-feet-tall and weighed 112 pounds at the time of the shooting.

The Courant also obtained a copy of a book Lanza wrote in 5th grade that includes violence against children throughout its 52 pages. Parts of the book had been released by State Police previously. The state Office of the Child's Advocate previously noted in its report that the book was a missed opportunity to figure out why Lanza was so focused on violence against children at such a young age.
