NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown man was arrested after New Year's Day crash, according to police.
The crash happened around 2:46 a.m. at the intersection of Toddy Hill and Berkshire roads. Joseph Mentes, 37, didn't stop at a red light and crashed into another vehicle, police said.
Mentes failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. He was charged with DUI and failure to obey a traffic signal. He posted a $1,000 bond.
